Privacy Policy
1. Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor's IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. After approval of your comment, your profile picture may be visible publicly in the context of your comment.
2. Media
If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data such as EXIF GPS. Visitors to the website can download and extract location data from images on the site.
3. Contact Forms
If you leave a comment on the site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies for your convenience so you do not have to fill in your details again when leaving another comment. These cookies may remain for up to one year.
If you have an account and log in to this site, we set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we also set cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies may last for two days, and screen option cookies may last for one year. If you select "Remember Me", your login may persist for two weeks. If you log out, the login cookies are removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie may be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you edited. It expires after one day.
4. Embedded Content From Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content such as videos, images, or articles. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor had visited the other website directly.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including if you are logged in to that website.
5. How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata may be retained indefinitely so follow-up comments can be recognized and approved automatically instead of being held in a moderation queue.
For users who register on the website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. Users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time, except for changing their username. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
6. What Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you, except data we must keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
7. Where We Send Your Data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
